I really need this kitchen. It’s so clean and modern and functional. When it comes to my home, I’m a minimalist.

A little while ago on PostSecret, Frank Warren had posted the above in his “Best of the PS App.” It really touched me, and it inspired me to start thanking men and women who serve. I live near a base and often see soldiers in their fatigues. They volunteer to put themselves in danger for the rest of us, and while I don’t support war, I support their bravery and selflessness.
This week on PostSecret, Frank shared an email he received with the community:

Frank,
On the PostSecret app, I saw exchanges from soldiers to citizens asking for letters or care packages…
The day after I dropped my fiance off at the airport for his deployment to Afghanistan, I received a message from his stating that he wanted to end our relationship.
…I remembered the soldiers on the PS app requesting letters. I still have a lot of love that I feel I need to send overseas. Is there anyway possibly that those addresses could be forwarded to me so I can carry out what I feel I need to do?

This message received a quick response from another PS community member via Twitter with a link to Soldiers’ Angels.
It reminded me of the secret about thanking soldiers and I feel like it is something I need to do. I wanted to share it in case anyone else has that same need to give back. You can send a one-time care package, you can utilize your hobbies of knitting, baking, woodworking, sewing, drawing, painting, writing, creating music…the opportunities are endless and potentially free to you.
I know so many of my friends have talents they can utilize for this and I think it would make you feel good to give if you tried.

One of my co-workers, Melissa, also happens to really love Blue October. We are going to try and see them in Chicago! You cannot imagine my excitement.

I have been debating about adopting a strict vegetarian diet. I don’t usually eat much meat normally, so this won’t be a huge transition for me. Though shopping today I did realize that a lot of “vegetarian” items contain beef or chicken product. Tomorrow will be my first official veggie-diet day and I expect to continue it through life. We’ll see how I do!
